St James’s Catholic Primary School ‘Put out into the deep’

Dear Parents,

We are excited to announce the official launch of the PFA DONATE FOR DIGITAL fundraising campaign - you may have seen the posters and banners around school already. This is an exciting new phase in the school lives of our children and as ever we need your help!

Few would dispute that it’s vital that our children leave St James’s equipped for life and work in the digital age. So for the rest of this academic year and next, PFA fundraising efforts will focus on supporting our school’s long-term technology innovation strategy under the DONATE FOR DIGITAL campaign.

A new digital era for our school

Over the Easter holidays, new state-of-the-art Wi-Fi was installed in every classroom, hall and office of our school. Funded by the Governors, this represents a step change in how our children can use technology to learn and interact. To get the most from the Wi-Fi, the school needs 100 new devices, for the children to use, at an estimated cost of £45,000 which will be paid for by the funds we raise through the DONATE FOR DIGITAL campaign. We’re off to a great start with £9,500 already available from previous events but we need much more.

On Tuesday May 16th at 9am in the Main Hall the school will once again present its vision and roadmap for technology innovation at St James’s to parents. Please do attend to understand why the funds are needed and how they will be spent to benefit school life - we promise it’s worth an hour of your time.
