St James's Catholic Primary School is over 100 years old although our present building is fairly new officially opened by HRH The Princess Royal in January 2006. The school was founded by the Sisters of Mercy and continues the vision and vocation to serve the Catholic children of Twickenham providing an education that nurtures and develops the whole child spiritually, academically, socially and in faith.
Our school has 3 forms of entry from Reception to Year 6 each class has 30 children. The Nursery has 2 classes of 26 and operates in the morning. George Tancred Centre, a centre for pupils with an Autism Spectrum Disorder has 10 pupils.
Our school motto is; "Put out into the deep." St James's aims to offer pupils many opportunities throughout their school life; learning to participate and contribute to the life of the school, and the wider communities to which we belong. While St James's has been teaching in Twickenham for over 100 years the mission of the school remains the same:
St James's is a Catholic school in which each individual grows in the knowledge and love of Christ. In partnership with parents and the whole community, our purpose is to provide a high standard of education, giving the maximum opportunity to realise each person’s potential.
