In-Year Application Process – 2025/26

📅 Key Dates:

• Applications Opened: 1 June 2025

• Processing of Applications Received by 30 June: Will be processed in July 2025

• Applications Submitted After June: Reviewed individually after all June applications have been completed

ℹ️ Information for Parents:

• Parents can apply now, but waiting list positions for September 2025 will not be available until October 2025.

⛪ St James's In-Year Admission Waiting Lists:

• Waiting lists are not carried over academic year to academic year.

• Parents will need to submit a new in year application with the local authority if they want to rejoin the waiting list for the next academic Year.

What is the process for changing schools in-year?

Please refer to the local authority guidance if you would like to apply for an in-year admission school place at St James's Catholic Primary School.

If a place is offered for your child they will be expected to be available to start school within five school days of an offer being made otherwise the place may be withdrawn. We will not reserve places for children, and you will be required to re-start the application process. 

What documentation do I need to provide?

1. An application to the local authority for an in-year admission.

2. In addition, if you wish to apply under a faith criterion; St James's requires additional documentation:

• Supplementary Information Form
• Copy of your child's baptism certificate
• Supporting documentation if your child is a Catholic looked after or adopted child.
• A letter of faith practice, if you are applying under another faith that does not have baptism certificates.
