St James's PFA

Welcome to the St James's Parents and Friends Association (PFA)  page.  Every parent or guardian of a child attending St James's Primary School is automatically a member of our PFA, led by a committee who plan fundraising initiatives and events.

► St James's PFA plays a critical role in supporting the quality of education for our children by fundraising for supplies and equipment whilst also bringing together the community of the school.

The Objective of St James's PFA

The object of the PFA is to advance the education of the pupils at St James's school, by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the school.  As an ancillary to the School, the PFA's objectives are to:

  • Foster

    • more extended relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the School

  • Engage

    • in activities which support the school and advance the education of the pupils attending it

  • Raise

    • funds and invite and receive contributions from any person or persons

Fundraising

► Past fundraising successes include the purchase of new Interactive Teaching Panels & Equipment for the Outdoor Playgrounds.

► We also provide all children making their First Holy Communion with a commemorative gift and part fund the year 6 leavers activities.

The PFA also organise Donate for Digital Lottery , a lottery whereby the money raised goes specifically to supporting the IT equipment.   To date, the Lottery has enabled the school to install new WIFI infrastructure and IPads and digital whiteboards in all classrooms.

To donate please click on the Donate for Digital Lottery link or on the link: https://www.peoplesfundraising.com/wall/st-jamess-pfa

► In 2024, the PFA Fundraising will support the re-development of our school’s Music and IT Infrastructure

Cashless Fundraising

►At St James's we are a cashless school and therefore for our PFA events, such as school book shops or our larger school events, parents are invited to purchase tokens.

Our token vending machine is located in the School Front Office and tokens are purchased through a tap of your bank card.   Tokens can be purchased in denominations of £1, £5, £10 or £20.  We politely request that parents/carers purchase tokens after 9am or between 3.30-4.00pm to avoid congestion in the Front Office.

The PFA Committee & Class Representatives:

Our PFA committee along with individual class reps organise events but its our members who determine how successful our fundraising initiative are.  Every event relies on parents, grandparents, guardians and other carers or family member's to take volunteering roles.

  • Chair: Mrs. L. Phil-Ebosie

  • Vice Chair: Mrs. N. Lynchehaun
