Catholic School Inspection - Oct 2025
Catholic School Inspection
October 2025
The school was inspected by the Catholic School Inspectorate (CSI) in October, the first inspection since March 2019. Much has changed in those 6 years, namely: a more exacting and rigorous CSI Inspection Framework alongside developments within our own school context.
The CSI has judged our school to be ‘Outstanding’ in all areas of the inspection framework:
- Catholic Life and Mission: Outstanding
- Religious Education: Outstanding
- Collective Worship: Outstanding
Inspectors also judged that the school is fully compliant with the general norms for religious education laid down by the Bishops’ Conference; the school is fully compliant with any additional requirements of the diocesan bishop and the school has fully responded to areas for improvement identified in the previous 2019 inspection.
Inspectors noted that ‘leaders, including governors and priests, are ambitious for the school and work collaboratively to ensure an inclusive environment where all feel valued and welcome’. It is wonderful that this is combined with their judgement that relationships in our school are ‘based on the highest levels of care and respect leading to exemplary pupil behaviour and attitudes’.
Inspectors validated the school’s approach to curriculum stating that ‘the headteacher, governors and leaders have very high expectations and ensure that religious education is truly at the heart of the curriculum’. It was also acknowledged that we really live out our mission of ‘Put out into the deep.’
The report confirms that the school has continued to build on the Ofsted Outstanding judgment in 2024, noting that wider curriculum subjects such as music ‘richly enhance’ the prayer life of the school. We are also pleased that inspectors identified the ‘direction and support’ provided to all staff by leaders as a key strength of the school.
Combined with our 2024 Ofsted inspection, it is evident that the school continues to perform at a remarkably high standard.
CSI’s validation will further strengthen our community’s confidence in our Catholic school. We now look forward to enabling our school leaders to build on this success with your continued support. We encourage you to take time to read the inspection report in full.
