At St James's, we have Mini Vinnies. Mini Vinnies is the name for a St Vincent de Paul Group for primary aged children. There are two Mini Vinnies per class in Years 1 to 6. The Mini Vinnies are elected from their peers, and are inspired by Catholic Social Teaching, Gospel Values and the life of St Vincent De Paul.

The Mini Vinnies meet weekly to organise and talk about helping others in need within our school, local and wider community. 

What happens at a Mini Vinnies’ meeting?

Each meeting begins with a prayer, led by the Prayer Leader. The Mini Vinnies Presidents then lead the meeting, and the secretary keeps minutes. The Mini Vinnies gather ideas from their classes for fundraising and charities to support throughout the year, and lead on organising and promoting these. The Mini Vinnies are inspired by the Catholic Social Teaching Principle of 'Option for the Poor'
