Rights Respecting Ambassadors

At St James's, we have Rights Respecting Ambassadors. There are two ambassadors per class in Years 1 to Year 6. These ambassadors are elected from their peers and are inspired by Catholic Social Teaching and Gospel Values to work for the Common Good of all in our community.

The Rights Respecting Ambassadors work to ensure every member of our school community is aware of children’s rights and to promote these throughout the school.  Our Rights Respecting Ambassadors meet weekly to discuss topical issues within the world and link these to the Rights of a Child. The ambassadors meet to collaboratively choose a Right of the fortnight for the school. Our Right of the Fortnight is a focus throughout the school and shared in our school newsletter. The Rights Respecting Ambassadors are inspired by the Catholic Social Teaching Principle of Dignity, working to ensure everyone's dignity and rights are respected.

See our Rights Respecting Schools Award page for more information.
