Technology Usage Agreement
By accepting a place at St James’s Catholic Primary School, parents, pupils and the school agree to follow the Technology, Internet and Smartphone Usage Agreement for the duration of the child’s enrolment. The agreement requires pupils to use technology responsibly, access only approved websites or activities, avoid inappropriate content, protect personal information, and report any unsafe or suspicious online activity to a teacher. Technology should only be used for schoolwork unless permission is given, and pupils must follow rules such as asking before downloading files, printing, or using devices. The school also operates a strict smartphone-free policy to reduce distractions, protect pupils from online risks such as cyberbullying and inappropriate content, and support their wellbeing and learning. Parents are encouraged to guide their children in safe technology use, while the school provides regular e-safety education. The agreement may be updated to reflect changes in technology, legislation or school policy.
